We offer self drive safaris based on moving tents and permanent camps and lodges and on different style luxury, mid-range and budget. The list below will provide you with a summary of what one can stay on his or her holiday in Uganda.

Lodges and Camps safaris are one where clients stay in permanent camps/lodges and travel from point to point by private 4×4 car rental Uganda. The lodge is the base for the day’s activities, which may include game drives, walking safaris, boating, fishing, swimming, or canoeing. Clients are normally hosted during meals, service is personal, and professional guides and knowledgeable staff are on hand to supervise activities and answer questions. Safari tented camps tend to be small, luxurious and offer a more personal level of service. All bathrooms are en-suite. We offer our clients free booking service using our tour operator rate.

Camping Safaris

Mobile camping safaris involves big and small groups staying at camps – tents, cooks, showers- move either with clients or go ahead in separate vehicles. These safaris usually take 15-25 days with the camps being set up in 4 or 5 different locations. Usually the group travels by 4×4 safari trucks and in a group of 20 or more individuals. Travel is usually in 4×4 overland trucks, Land Cruisers, Omni-buses, Buses/Coasters, Rav4 4×4 and group sizes are from 2-25 guests. Private safaris can be arranged for family groups, students or for travel with friends.

Camping Safaris allow you maximum time to enjoy the bush with all the tedious daily chores taken care of. Quality equipment is used and a support vehicle travels ahead of you to set up camp. Wherever possible, private campsites with a shared bush-shower and toilet are used. Comfortable dome tents and stretcher beds with linen are supplied.

The camping safaris are designed for those who really enjoy camping. The big group safaris are run with a crew of cook/assistant plus guide. Clients may be required to assist in setting up and dismantling camp, and often public campsites are used. All equipment is carried either in the safari vehicle or an extra vehicle. This is a viable option for those keen to camp, venture into remote locations or on a slightly tighter budget. Comfortable dome tents with mattress are supplied.

Our mobile camping safaris are ideal for those not looking for luxury but an authentic feeling of real Africa, where you go where the game is and leave no footprint behind. Surrounded by the whispering bush, you’ll be in the beating heart of Africa, safe within the confines of the camp and experiencing life in the wild.

Some camps will be set up and dismantled as you roam the plains on your game drives, whilst others are a little more hands on and require you to put up your own tent at each stop. Tents are basic, with a smaller bathroom tent set up nearby. Tents are generally domed and are made of thick canvas. A central dining tent will provide food and drink, with a chef serving up culinary delights each day whilst a roaring campfire serves as the social hub, gathering around it and enjoying the guides’ stories is a simply magical way to spend an evening.
